40th Anniversary tour celebrating the music of

Plus Special Guest Sarah McLeod

English singer-songwriter JOHN WAITE has announced his first Australian tour. John will be performing his catalogue of hits from his 40year career as a solo artist, with The Babys and Bad English and presented in a unique electric-acoustic format with his band.

John Waite’s catalogue of hits features some of the most loved songs of the 80s and 90s – the #1 Worldwide hit ‘Missing You’,  ‘Isn’t It Time’ and Bad Englishs ‘When I See You Smile’ rank amongst some of his biggest international hits and are still heard on radio today.

Others include ‘Tears’, ‘Change’ and ‘These Times Are Hard For Lovers’. ‘Every Step Of The Way’ and ‘If Anybody Had A Heart’ appeared on the soundtrack to the 1986 Demi Moore film About Last Night. ‘Deal for Life’, penned by Martin Page and Bernie Taupin, was featured in the Days Of Thunder soundtrack.

As a solo artist and as the lead singer of The Babys and Bad English, John Waite was a fixture of album-oriented rock radio stations during the ’70s and ’80s. John Waite had a talent for power ballads and driving arena rock, occasionally touching on new wave-styled power pop as well.

John Waite formed The Baby’s in London, England in 1976 and found chart success very quickly with hits such as ‘Isn’t It Time’ and ‘Every Time I Think Of You’.  After the group disbanded in 1978 Waite began his solo career and in 1984 released the album No Brakes which featured the global #1 single ‘Missing You’ and Top 10 Billboard hit ‘Tears’.

John Waite formed the supergroup Bad English in 1988 with former Babys Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips (bass), exJourney guitarist Neal Schon, and drummer Deen Castronovo. The group’s debut album, released in 1989 on Epic Records, became a platinum success after the power ballad ‘When I See You Smile’ became a number one hit. Other hits included ‘Price of Live’, ‘Straight To Your Heart’ and ‘Best Of What I Got’.

Supporting John Waite on this tour is Sarah McLeod.  The Superjesus frontwoman and an accomplished solo performer in her own right, McLeod is a multi ARIA award winning artist and one of Australia’s finest musicians and songwriters. Sarah’s first full length solo album in more than 12 years , ROCKY’S DINER, is out now.

This will be John Waite’s very first tour of Australia and Australia could not be more excited!
